Archived January 2007 article

The Kamehameha Swim Club, which practices out of the Oahu Club in Hawaii Kai, finished competing in the 2007 Hawaii State Age Group Swimming Short Course Championships over the weekend. The competition, which was held in Kona, had over 22 teams from all across the state. Kamehameha Swim Club finished with an astounding 1693.5 points, over 700 points ahead of the second place team. By the end of the competition, KSC had broken two Hawaiian records, including one that had stood for over 19 years. The club also had two swimmers walk away with the individual age group high point award: Kacy Johnson in the boys 11-12 division and Sean Campbell in the boys 17-18 division. In what turned out to be one of the most dominating individual and team performances at the state championship level, KSC had over 57 individual and relay titles.
