"Hawaii is the best place to live; I should have been born here," said Daniel Allen. Born and raised in the San Fernando Valley in California, Daniel began his career as a first grade teacher. In 1993, he bought his first computer and within the first 24 hours after he bought it, he spent 5 hours on the telephone holding for technical support. "That is when I began to realize that everyone wants to sell you something but nobody wants to be teach you how to use the product," Allen continued. "'Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.' That is the Chinese proverb I live by."

It was fate that brought Daniel Allen to the islands. He fell in love with and married a Hawaiian beauty who was living in California. They decided to move to the islands and Allen began his company in Hawaii Kai. Allen has a gift for teaching and communicating, so he wanted to empower his clients by teaching them how to utilize the full potential of their computers. If the Hawaii Kai Computer Guy becomes your technical support specialist, he will lead you onto the road of becoming self-sufficient and self-confident when turning on your computer; and that is something none of the retail stores truly offer.

Daniel Allen personally has a gift for knowing over seventy operating systems and four hundred software programs. From Adobe's Creative Suite to Sony's Vegas Movie Studio Editing software, Allen's technical support packages include four hours of personal software training. His youngest client is five years old and he is mastering Photoshop Elements. "I have a ninety-five-year-old client who needed to learn about Photoshop so he could keep in touch with his grandchildren on the mainland; and now he's sending elaborate slide shows," said Allen.

"Educating people is very rewarding and what I want to do is give my clients a CD after their software sessions so they can refer back to the lessons," explained Allen.

The Hawaii Kai Computer Guy believes strongly in assisting those who are motivated to improve themselves in life. "Often, developing computer skills is key to achieving this higher personal and professional success," said Allen.

Through their ClassMates™ program, they provide complimentary computer education classes to nonprofit organizations who serve those that are seeking to restore themselves including shelters, substance rehabilitation centers, retirement communities and similar institutions.
