FAMILY WANTED Paige: Paige is likely a shepherd, sharpie, something mix. We assume she's a kennel dog from her original behavior. Paige was recently treated for heartworm disease and post-op complications since she was sick and emaciated when she joined us. She's gaining weight and is full of energy. She is a bit food aggressive and will need ongoing work in this area, though she's calmed down tremendously being hand-fed and getting regular meals, something she obviously went without before. She's incredibly smart, loving and playful - reliving her puppy years, I think, since she probably didn't have any before. | "Wild one" as we call him was a true bad boy when we got him. He was dumped into a Kahala construction site and brought here by a passerby. He's mellowed with "age" now that he's all of 7 months old or so. He loves the bunny room and loves to be held. He's not fond of kisses and still thinks about nipping though he doesn't break skin. He'll need a firm but loving hand to maintain his good manners, but would be a great companion for multi-animal families. | Julius - yes, named for Orange Julius. This stout kitty wants to spend his life as a necklace. No, seriously, his favorite place to be is lying across your chest with one paw around either side of your neck. Like big jewelry? Julius is your man!
We have over 40 animals on site for adoption, including over 20 kittens of varying ages and we work with rescuers and foster families that house another 400 animals - generally dogs, cats and rabbits at this point. We also just took in 35 abused and abandoned cats and kittens from a bad situation and are looking for both permanent and foster homes for these kids. |
