Kaiser's football season ended on October 19th with their 34-27 loss to Waipahu. But according to head coach Patrick Samsonas, this season was far from disappointing. "Everyone was writing us off coming into this season. Nobody thought Kaiser would bounce back after losing 29 guys. Most people thought we'd finish under teams like Anuenue and Kalani."
After starting the season 0-2 with losses to Nanakuli and Kaimuki, the remaining six games started to look bad. However, a homecoming shutout win against Anuenue's sharp offense seemed to spark the team. They went on to beat Waialua the next week and stood at 2-2. Going into the fall intercession, Kaiser lost two tough road games against Pearl City and Roosevelt - two eventual playoff teams. The Cougars made their way back to Kaiser Stadium on October 12th and threw a 55-0 win into the heated rivalry. They rounded up the season 3-5 with the loss to Waipahu.
