Art Beauty Shop greets shoppers online with a spa-like presentation for a new art book, Beauty Secrets For Life The Artpart: A 20 Minute Beauty Boost from Art and Life Connections Art-titude Is Everything... now published by Artpart Press at Cafe Press. The book offers a zesty boost from art and life - everyday beautiful connections for art lovers, artists, students or those who value beauty.
"It's about what the Arts give to all people for the essential 'facelift' - a happy face," says author Carolyn Tolpo Smith, Hawaii Kai portrait artist, of C. Tolpo Portrait Art Studio. "This book acknowledges such ageless wonders that quietly work beautifully for the Arts while already beautifying life and the beauty awareness, as passed on in the Arts over time, that partner with people everyday regardless of capability or situation to keep a general beauty duty pushing forward unstoppable smiles."
Her experience spans the smiles of people, pets, plants and more as a portrait artist in thirty plus years of painting fine oil portraiture. The UH alumnus hails from a family of professional artists. Her art that joins the Tolpo listing in the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery Catalog of American Portraits includes Hawaii State Portrait of Governor John A. Burns.
A palette of beauty tips join illustrations in the book that feature original C.Tolpo art sketch work, palette work and concept artwork for projects in various painting and drawing media. In this first book the artist /author intensifies the focus tapped in her column The Artpart that explores art and life connections - now nearly a hundred seen here online and in east Honolulu newspapers since 1997.
