The foot of Diamond Head will become the home of the Culinary Institute of the Pacific. A new building will allow Kapiolani Community College's (KCC) current two-year culinary program to expand into a four-year program. The new facility, which will be located on the former U.S. Army Cannon Club's site, may also incorporate a restaurant. The state Department of Land & Natural Resources will lease the land to KCC. The site has a panoramic view of the ocean from the slopes of Diamond Head. Governor Linda Lingle joined Representative Gene Ward and guests of the KCC students. "These chefs join us at Washington Place all the time," said the Governor. Our Pacific-Asian cuisine is known worldwide and now we'll have the facility to train the best chefs in the world. Bon Appetit.
