The Friends of Koko Head School will resume its recycling drive Friday, January 18, 2008, at the school's drive-through area, from 7-9 a.m. So, save your holiday HI-5s!

Although Hawaii Kai residents are participating in the city's recycling program, it's OK to continue to save your HI-5s - which now include those bigger 2-liter bottles for soda and water - for the school. While you're filling your green can with green waste, remember that all recyclables that are not HI-5 can go into the blue can. Fill your blue can with newspapers, flattened, uncoated cardboard boxes, detergent jugs and certain glass bottles such as those for wine, sauces and various food items.

Happy New Year from the Friends of Koko Head School! Please continue to donate your HI-5 containers so that we can continue funding the physical education, music and extracurricular programs of our beloved school.
